What happens when I sign a SAFE through Stack?

When you sign a SAFE through Stack, you and the company will each get an email with a draft version of the SAFE. Once the company receives your investment, they will counter-execute the SAFE. You'll get a fully executed version via email.

Once the SAFE is fully executed, a shareholder profile will be created for you. You'll be able to log in to Stack at any time to view your security, contact the company, and see other relevant details.

What happens when I am issued stock?

When the company issues an instrument, you will receive a notification in your email. Once you're logged in, you can accept and acknowledge receipt of the instrument through an e-signature. When you accept the instrument, you will be asked to confirm your entity information.

Do I get a certificate for my security?

Note: This feature is only supported for Delaware-based companies.

Certain companies have bylaws that allow issuing stock through certificate-free stock issuance. Certificate-free stock is also referred to as un-certificated stock or book-entry shares.

We find that this method of issuing stock is much easier for the company and shareholders than managing paper or even paperless digital certificates. Many investors and top accelerators recommend that their companies incorporate with, or amend their bylaws to support certificate-free stock issuance.

If you are issued certificate-free stock by a company that is using AngelList Stack, you will receive a Notice of Issuance of Stock and have access to it on your investor dashboard.

How can I change the details of my security?

You can reach out to the company directly through the dashboard to clarify the details or make corrections as necessary.
